S’INNÀSTU- the art of grafting and the risk of changing to survive

To keep a vine alive, you have to cut it.

You open it and insert another branch. It has to line up perfectly.

Then you cover it.. and you wait.

It doesn’t always take.

ERIMU – January 16, Lodè

What happens on January 16th in Lodè is, for us young Sardinians, a way to return to ourselves. To reconnect with a vital part of who we are, something we sense, but don’t fully know.

Something we’ve never truly lived, but that constantly calls to us. It’s a glimpse into a culture so deeply rooted in our blood that, even in a world devoured by artificial intelligence, it still rises, strong and undeniable. And each year, it brings back to life a different kind of intelligence: one that is unconscious, historical, and collective.

It’s a kind of shared memory. One that stirs in us a deep, wordless anger, the kind that comes from holding a whole world inside you, with no way to explain it.

Hunting in Sardinia // Jagd auf Sardinien

Video reportage filmed during a day of hunting in Lodè, from dawn to blood.

No words, only sounds, gestures, and calls revealing the ancient bond between man, animal, and death.

A ritual that still divides, fascinates, and unsettles.

Carnival in Mamoiada

It is not a mask: it is a face that carries a state of mind.

It is not a parade: it is a people dancing inside their own history.

The Mammuthones carry the weight of time on their backs and shake it until it resounds as loud as it can.

In Naples, you remember you’re alive.

I can’t explain Naples.

I only know it doesn’t leave you the way it found you.

A short video portrait of a city that never stops living.
